About the Artist
David Ma was born on January 25, 1972 in Jilin Province, China. His real name is Ma Soejeo. As an art student, He developed a passion for abstract expressionism and contemporary landscapes. Ma was inspired by shapes that may appear first as a reflection, then drift into volumetric configurations.
David Ma Attended Yanbian University of Fine Art, Where he learned higher artistic ideals through extensive study while developing a foundation of design, drawing and painting. He majored in Fine Arts. Textured elements and depth are a very important element when David paints.
Ma exhibited at the 2006 Beijing Art Expo, 2014 Songzhang Art Exhibition and has been exhibiting at ArtExpo New York since 2015. He currently lives in Yanjiao, Hebei Province with his parents, wife and son. During his free time he likes to collect mineral stones and carve wood sculptures.
