About the Artist
Suji Kim aka “Michael” is originally from Seoul, Korea. He now lives and paints in the United States. Growing up, he learned the trade of an artist from his uncle. Suji was fascinated by colors, brushes and subjects.
Mostly, he helped with the cleaning of studio maintenance and eventually became a remarkable artist with a great talent and love for painting. He enjoys painting horses especially in horse racing scenes.
Suji skillfully captures the energy and excitement of horse racing in his works. The colorful clothing on the riders creates a rich, bold element that leaps with the horses from the canvas. He expresses the fierceness, beauty, and strength of these animals with masterful details. From the intensity of the eyes to the bulging muscles, Suji paints the details of these majestic and powerful animals. He is also able to express the amazing speed of these competing horses whether it be racing or rodeo.
